TOURNAMENT RULES: USA ARCHERY including USAA dress code (No Blue Jeans or Camo) and new FITA rules effective April 1, 2012 will be enforced. (Please download) ASAA Tournament Rules and Procedures
CHAMPIONSHIP ELIGIBILITY: USA Archery membership listing Arizona as your residence is required for you to compete for State Championship titles and awards. Please bring your USAA membership card. Guests (Non-USAA and/or Non-Arizonans) are welcome to shoot in a guest category if there are open spaces.
CHAMPIONSHIP AWARDS: Awards will be distributed for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place in each JOAD category. NO awards will be given out to Senior, Masters or Guest Divisions.
QUALIFICATION ROUND: 144 arrow Qualification Round will determine the State Champions. 72 arrows on Saturday. 72 arrows on Sunday.
Recurve
All Recurve Juniors, Seniors will shoot at 70 meters
All Recurve Cadets, Masters will shoot at 60 meters
All Recurve Cubs will shoot at 50 meters
All Recurve Bowmen will shoot at 30 meters
All Recurve Yeoman/Novice will shoot at 20 meters
All Recurve long distances will be on a 122cm face.
Compound
All Compound Seniors, Juniors, Masters, Cadets will shoot 144 arrows at 50m – 80cm-6 ring individual target face
All Compound Cubs will shoot 144 arrows at 30m – 80cm-6 ring individual target face
All Compound Bowman/Yeoman/Novice/ will shoot 144 arrows at 25m – 80cm- regular 10 ring target face
All ends (recurve & compound) are 4 minute, 6 arrow ends.
Guests are welcome to shoot in a Guest category.
Mixed Team Round (JOAD Archers Only)
The tournament will conduct team rounds on Saturday PM after the ranking round and lunch break. The tournament will assemble teams based on the number of archers and distance compatibility. Team rounds will consist of two or three person teams at the option of the tournament. A team round will consist of four ends of two arrows per archer. Each archers shoots in turn. Team round process includes stepping on and off the shooting line and an average of 20 seconds per arrow of shooting time. The tournament will endeavor to provide multiple team rounds for each team. “Team rounds are a blast” explains Bob Pian, ASAA board member. “Internationally team rounds are loud, fast paced and exciting. SHADE, CHAIRS & TENTS: There will be shade for Archers and Spectators; however you should bring your own chairs. Pop-up tents are allowed, but cannot be staked into the ground. NO SMOKING, OPEN FLAMES or COOKING allowed at the Park.
